Cattle Point Lighthouse - San Juan Island

Cattle Point Light is located on the southern tip of San Juan Island. Though it may lack in structural appeal, it makes up for this shortcoming by surrounding itself with some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Washington State. The first navigational aid on the point was a lens lantern established in 1888. Photos by Bruce Robie.

The modern thirty-four-foot, octagonal, concrete tower on Cattle Point was erected in 1935. The beacon itself is not much to rave about. But the surrounding land and seascape is breathtaking. July 2007
