WLA's first Membership Meeting, Whidbey Island - Nov. 12, 2005  

The first WLA Membership Meeting was held Nov. 12, 2005, at Fort Casey on Whidbey Island. The meeting was attended by over 100 lighthouse fans and society members. Tables were reserved for lighthouse group advertising. The agenda included a WLA Board of Directors report, lunch and the ever-popular raffle. Elinor DeWire narrated, "Lighthouses across America: An Armchair Tour of Our Nation’s Beautiful Sentinels." Admiralty Head Lighthouse was opened for a rare off-season tour.

WLA Secretary and raffle
WLA Secretary and raffle "MC," Jonathan DeWire draws a crowd at the meeting. Some say it's due to his charismatic personality, others say its because the raffle prizes are top-notch. Then again, lighthouse fans just might be drawn in by that cool lighthouse apron!
