West Point Lighthouse Acquisition Celebration, Seattle WA - October 12, 2005  

On October 12 2005, ownership of the 1881 West Point Light Station on Shilshole Bay was transferred to the city of Seattle. The transfer of the Lighthouse in Discovery Park was governed by the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act of 2000. The purpose of the NLPA is to turn over former Coast Guard stations to organizations that can preserve and open them to the public. (Photos by Bruce Robie)
