The Nov.'06 Directors Forum was facilitated by Rex Porter and Gloria Wahlin, representing the Washington Lighthouse License Plate Grant Fund Committee. Rex and Gloria answered questions about the fund—its purpose, how the money is earned and managed, apportionment, types of projects that will be funded, the paperwork necessary to apply for the grants, and the process for application and selection. Currently, about fifteen 501(c)3 groups in the state are eligible to apply for grants (nonprofits associated with lighthouses and lightships). The grants committee is eager to help applicants with the grant process.
