March 26, 2005 was cold and windy, but the mood was every bit sunny as seven lighthouse fanatics from around the Evergreen State came together at Admiralty Head to launch the Washington Lightkeepers Association. Just one month prior to our initial board meeting, future WLA President Elinor DeWire, "tested the waters" of interest in a Washington Lighthouse organization by arranging a tour of three Puget Sound lighthouses. The turnout was strong and the message was loud and clear - "with all our historic lights, why doesn't Washington have an official lighthouse association?" This album documents the events leading up to the formation of the WLA.
